Q: Can I create my own web site and transfer the UFT pages there?
You can upload the UFT pages to any site. Last year I subscribed to FreePages at Rootsweb and uploaded all of my family web pages to that site. See my home page on my ISP at http://users.multipro.com/lawrpaulhttp://users.multipro.com/lawrpaul and go to any of the family pages. All except for the Burnett family were generated in UFT.
Q: Is there some other software that can do the job?
There are several programs that create web pages from gedcoms. Also TMG does create web pages but not as nice as UFT did. You can spruce them up with some editing of your own. See my Burnett page mentioned above, it was create with TMG and then I spruced it up with some editing.
Q: Is there an ex-employee of UFT that can be bribed to help us all? He/she could make a packet.
It has been a year since genealogy.com announced that they were discontinuing UFT. At this point it appears they have no interest in continuing any type of support. I'm sure the ex-employees have moved on to bigger and better things. The code that UFT is written in is outdated and not worth trying to do anything with. A lot of us former UFT users are now using TMG, liking some things, missing some things from UFT...
Q: Is there a God?
Probably, as Maggie said, but I doubt that he'll stike genealogy.com with lightning
