Is there a DNS error message or anything like that? There was a problem awhie back on that. Or Try this ... if you are using Internet Explorer, go into the View menu, then into Internet Options, then Advanced. Scroll to the bottom of the list until you see the section titled HTTP1.1 settings. Uncheck the box "Use Http1.1 through proxy connections" but leave a check in the box above it that says Use Http1.1. Then go to the top of the Internet Options panel and click on the Connection tab. You will see a section labeled "proxy server." Make sure the box called "acceo the Internet using a proxy server is un-checked. This willdisable any proxies/firewalls, which should prevent proxy-related errors. I'm not sure if this was for older versions of IE or not. I just had some notes written and thought I'd toss a few ideas out to you.
If you want to try to run the "browser setup" program, you can go to Windows/Start/Programs/genealogy menu and then select "browser setup". The browser should detect if you have Netscape or IE (or both) installed in your computer. It will also allow you to choose which of these you want to connect to the UFT web site.I realize that you are not using aol, but perhaps some of this may help.
