As I recall the WordPerfect scenario, Roots/UFT was hand tailored to export RTF files that worked well with either WP6 or WP7 propritary fonts.
WP8 was taken over by Corel and was upgraded to handle the new Windows 95 features, but had major RTF import conversion problems with all RTF files, not just those created by UFT.
WP9's third party import conversion utility was reworked to work pretty well on importing all RTF files, including those from UFT, but unfortunately UFT development stopped at the point that WP9 was released.
There is now no easy way to get the proper RTF export to WP9 out of UFT if the user does not also own MSWord. (This is a UFT design problem, not a WP problem, and the extent of the problem varies from one type of report to the next.)
Six and five Generation UFT "pedigree" reports are not available for RTF export to any Text Editor, and must be sent directly to the printer. Four gen. pedigrees should export OK as RTF files, but again, there may be problems getting the proper format to WP9.
The easy answer? If you want to use WP6/7, you can do it. Don't even try WP8. If you want to use WP9 or later, you have to install some version of MSWord to make UFT give you the right files. Then run those files through MSWord 97+ before editing them in WordPerfect 9+.
Or something like that. Good luck, and do a search on this forum for previous postings on the subject.
