I solved my divide by zero problem using Patch26.Patch 26 is meant to work on "fast" computers that run at 300 MHz or more.It won't work if you have Windows 3.x or earlier, or if your FoxPro for Windows version is earlier than 2.6a (This includes 2.5, 2.5a, 2.5b and 2.6.).If you have earlier versions of either, you must first upgrade.
Here's what I did: 1) Go to microsoft support (http://support.microsoft.com ).Enter 240982 in the 'Search the Knowledge Base' box and click.Select patch26.exe from the results.
2) Download Patch26 to your UFTree directory.Note:This should be c:UFT .You can create add'l problems if you have changed either the default drive or the default UFT directory name.Change them to the back if you have.
3) After downloading Patch26.exe, you may be prompted to unzip the download.Do that, making sure that all unzipped files are also within the c:UFT directory. Ultimately, Patch26.exe and Readme should be in the C:UFT directory along with your FOXW2600.ESL file.
4)Within C:UFT, find the Readme file for Patch26.Open it, note the instructions for Situation 2, and print the document.
5) Open a command prompt (e.g., start menu, programs, accessories, and select Command Prompt).
6) Type the Situation 2 commands exactly as noted in the Patch26 Readme file.Press enter after each command line. You should see a message indicating that changes to FOXW2600.ESL have been accepted.Type 'exit' and enter to close the command prompt.
7)Right click on your UFTree program icon.Select Compatibility.Select the operating system version and any other particulars that you used when last operating UFT successfully.Click Apply.
8)Try to open UFTree successfully.
My particular situation was compounded by the fact that I had upgraded to XP and switched all UFT files to a new computer. After fixing the divide by zero problem, I had a couple of other small problems with UFT.The programindicated that it couldn't find a specific file.I resolved that by locating the missing file on my old computer and copying it to the directory with the same name on my new computer.
