Rita- To follow up with my two cents worth, go ahead and learn your UFT application and use the reports, even though you will get no developer support.
You already narrowed your choice to UFT. As long as this forum exists, someone will try to help with your questions. In the meantime, you can read the reviews and FAQ on the Beta and released versions of other Genealogy Programs frequently recommended on this forum.
Some of the UFT reports and files can be e-mailed to relatives in RTF format for review. An HTML report version is readable in your relatives' browsers.
But, as Bob says, forget about going online through the UFT program. You may also want to forget about using Excel, but Microsoft Word is a definite asset with UFT. Ask your relatives who only use Excel to consider downloading PAF5 for basic data exchange. The price is right and PAF is intuitive.
When you get around to wanting Wall Charts, you will probably want to look elsewhere. Regards, John
