I have a Christmas card sent by my uncle, Amos KIRKLAND, from Peiping, China in 1939.It doesn't have a unit number or any identifying unit info.On the front it says "NPP", which I learned was their call sign.On the bottom of the front it says NERK NOO V NPP, and Seasons Greetings 1939.These are the names on the inside:
Capt. J.E. JONES, communication officer. Radio Elec. O.N. EDMONDS,USN, officer in charge CRM S.B. HAINES, USN, traffic chief TSGT N.H. JUNGERS, NCO in charge STFSGT H.H. MURRELL, chief supervisor
Telephone Exchange: NCO IN CHARGE TSGT J.P. DRUMMOND OPERATORS PFC H.J. LAYNE PFC W.J. TYLEE All I know is that they were Designation A, Call Sign NPP, Type RI, Est: 1927, Disest.: Jul 1935 moved to Shanghai. I don't think I have enough to send for his military records.I need his unit or ship of assignment. Does anyone have a clue what all of this means?
