Henderson and Nelso Musgrove were in the First Regiment of Alabama Volunteers (12 Month Service) "Coffey's Regiment" under Colonel John R. Coffey. They were in Company B known as Thomason's Company under Captain Zachariah Thomason.
According to the book "Alabama Volunteers in the Mexican War" Company B was raised in DeKalb County, Alabama in May 1846, entered 12 months of federal service at Mobile on June 12, 1846 and were mustered out of service at New Orleans, Louisiana on May 28, 1847.
Nelson Musgrove was promoted to Brevet (Honorary) 2nd Lieutenant at Camp Alabama on August 1, 1846 but died there at Camp Alabama three days later on August 4, 1846.
Henderson Musgrove is listed as also dying at Camp Alabama but eight days later on August 12, 1846.
Just guessing from what info is available...These two might have died from illness in the camp...but then again nothing is stated as to cause of death so they might have seen some sort of action.
This is all that is listed but I thought I would share in case anyone ran across this post.
