One of my wife's ancestors served in the Mexican War- I can't seem to find out anything about his service other than the information from the card index for "Headstones provided for deceased Union Veterans 1879-1903" shows his burial place as St. Mary's Cemetery in Dubuque. Note St. Mary's cemetery was renamed Mt. Calvary in 1902 Gravestone reads- Stephen Ruh- Co. C Easton's -Batt'n. MO. Vols. -Mex. War -Born - Dec 25, 1818 - in Geilingen- Baden- Died-Apr 18, 1880.
Does anyone know anything about an Easting's battalion of Missouri Volunteers?
