Martin Paine - Family history tells me he wrote his mother he would soon be coming home from the war, but never arrived. The family believed he was shipwrecked. Was older than the other two, but no date of birth known.
George Paine - At some point in his life he started spelling his last name as Payne. Also served in a couple indian wars and the civil war. A letter written by his son in his widows pension file from the civil war mentions that he thought his father was in the regular army before he joined the 11th maine at the start of the civil war. He died around the age of 62 from effects of wounds from the civil war. Born around 1818.
Mager Paine - Also at some point started spelling his last name as Payne. Also served in a couple indian wars and the civil war. I have not been able to find any info on his civil war service, not even his unit. Unlike the other two he lived to the old age of 75. Born around 1825.
They were all born in Maine, but have now been able to find the town as the family kept moving when the children were young. They should have been residing in Plymouth Maine when they joined.
Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
