In case you didn't receive the e-mail I sent directly to you, I was able to locate Walter Greene, Jr. and I talked with him on the phone. I read to him your posting and offered to put him in touch with you. For some strange reason, he wasn't interested. He didn't explain why.
It could have been that, like many Americans, he suspected there was a string attached. I encounter that a lot when I try to reunited or connect people -- it's my hobby.
Or he could be one of my fellow Vietnam veterans who just plain don't want to remember their experiences.
By the way, the Service Number you provided off the dogtags was one digit off. But he confirmed his Vietnam service, his Baptist religion (back then) and his blood type.
He's living in one of the western states, is married and apparently has at least one child in their 30s. I've provided a bit more information in the e-mail I sent to you. If you didn't receive it, feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
And if there's anyone else out there who needs help finding people, please let me know. I'll help if I can.
