Peggy, The "Green Beret" dress, or "class A" uniform, was the same as the regular Army. With the exception of the Jump boots being "bloused", that is the pants legs were tucked and bloused into the tops of the boots. The Beret had aspecial "flash" (small stiffener inside sewn to the Unit patch on the outside) on it to denote what Spoecial Forces group the trooper was assigned to. The officers pinned their isignia of rank onto the patch (flash), The EM did not. The only flashI remember with a lightning bolt was the ASA (army security agency) flash. I don't think they were a special forces unit. As I have been out of the Army since 1966, things may have changed. The above description was circa Vietnam war.
