From his enlistment on May 2nd, 1812, until May 31st, 1812, Jonathan Denton, a Private in Capt. Parmenius Beckes' Company of Rangers, is recorded as being "absent, on command Busrow."
I am uncertain what that means.I suspect that it may mean that Denton was officially in but was not actually with the Company, although he could be called into action "on command."And I suspect that his location during that time period was at or near a Shaker community known as Busro/Busroe/Busrow on Busseron Creek in Sullivan Co. IN.
Can anyone confirm, correct, and/or amend my suspicions?
