I am a decendent of an Isaac Vantries.I know nothing of his service in the war of 1812, except that I was told by my grandfather. Oscar, that we had relatives serving in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Civil War, World War I (my Grandfather Oscar) World War II, My Uncles Ivan, Kenneth, Ernest, and Aunt G. (Gladys) Vernice Vantries.
My lineage is Marvin Vantries (father), Oscar Vantries (grandfather) John Vantries (great-grandfather), Isaac Vantries (great-great grandfather).I know that my family first arrived in the pre-United States in the 1500's in Maryland (we have relatives buried there. My Father visited the grave stones). I know that we moved to Pennsylvania, Ohio, Illlios, the Isaac left the family in Illinois and headed to California (during the Gold Rush) and started a new family. The remainder of my family (including John) moved to Glenwood, Minnesota, where Oscar and my father Marvin (and his 12 siblings) were born.Ialso was born in Glenwood, MN. I know that there was a Vantries Plantation in Louisiana, but I do not know if I am related.I currently live in Baton Rouge, La,and would be intersted in learning more about what you know, and how you are connected to the Vantries name.
