There were NO airborn forces of any kind in World War I. Are you certain he was in WWI? This gentlemman's draft card won't tell you anything about his time in the military. Cards, in bothworld wars, were issued to millions of civilians pursuent to a law. The Army took in about 4 million men in WWI. That was a small pecentage of those who registered for the draft. Men who were in the military before that draft was enacted never had draft cards. The fact that you are so vague about the details makes it hard for anyone to give you definite advice about pursuing service records. If you can accurately describe some, or all, of the memorabilia some valid advice could be forthcoming.
