I am presently transcribing an original typed copy of a very old document entitled, "1929 Roster, Company "C" 305th Ammunition Train (Compiled by Horace L. Blair).I have all the pages and the information included, which consists of the names of all the men in the Company, their rank, their addresses as of 1929 (most were provided), their marital status, number children and occupation. For those killed, the dates of their demise, how they died and in what battle is also included.Company "C" member, Horace L. Blair managed to get most of the men or/and their families to provide this information to him, and he typed it up and sent a copy to all of the men, who happened to include my grandfather, Roy H. Carrier.Roy kept it and obviously, our family values such things and we preserved it.Most of the men were from Pennsylvania, although some are from Maryland, W.V., N.J., N.Y. and a few other states. The members of this Company were men who possessed some skill and familiarity with operating machinery, which is why they were chosen fo this group. I will send anyone who asks for it a copy of the Word document chart I am preparing from this. So, send me a request and I'll keep a list of all of those who want a copy. I think Horace Blair would be pleased, as would my Grandpa, Roy H. Carrier who was from Jefferson County, PA. I hope to get done within a couple weeks.I also have a very long, big photo of the entire Company, but I don't know how to reproduce the thing. When complete, I'll post the names of all the men listed in the document.Anyone want this?
