if you look at an image of the 1930 census 1930; Census Place: Gadsden, Etowah, Alabama; Roll16; Page: 3B; Enumeration District: 3; Image: 88 Name Age John B Leach 53 Quilla Leach 52 Garnette Leach 21 Marguerita Leach 19 Mildred Leach 17 there is a line asking if you are a veteran of U.S. Military or Naval Forces, the notation there is NO. The third registration was held on September 12, 1918, for men age 18 through 45.
