His date of enlistment was Apr 29, 1918 & his date of discharge was Jan 11, 1919 (less than 9 months later). His vocation listed on his dc papers was "teacher". I do know that his brother died May 18, 1918 of pneumonia. The brother lived near their mother in Negaunee, Michigan. There was a sister living locally still at that time & another brother living in Minnesota at the time. That's what I know which may be relevant.
I recently also requested his OMPF from the national archives. Maybe that will include his application for disharge?
