I meant to ask if you had any dates from Henry Whitings memories relating to this extract;_
'I had a surprise a few days later, my cousin had heard that my battery (100th Siege Battery RGA) was in Armentieres and had come to see me. He told me his battery, the 91st Siege, were only four miles away, so I cycled to see him. When I arrived they told me they were on the move, but did not know where, but I found out afterwards it was to Narlly Harlette (sic).
"I had a surprise a few days later"(what was the event and is there a date or month? The timescale seem a bit truncated.
Narlly Harlette (sic)(I think this must be MAILLIE MAILLET as the 91st arrived there in Octover.
1916 October 18 –– MAILLY MAILLET- 91st Siege Battery arrived at Mailly Maillet at 7 p.m.[91ST War battery Siege Battery diary]
Have Harry Whiting's memories ever been published?
