need help finding info

If anyone knows anything about the 8th FTR CONT SQ who served in the SWPA during WWll or how I can find info leading me to the unit I would greatly apperiate it.My father served in this unit and I can find no mention of this unit anywhere.I am begining to believe that they were wiped from the war.I can find mention of just about any other unit but this one.Its as if they never exsisted. I dont have a clue as to where else look as I have looked every where I can think of.I have even tried typing his entire numbers and copied all info off of his discharge papers and still I come up empty.My father is so proud of the fact that he served and I just wanted to get alittle writing on his unit to give him and I keep coming up empty handed.So anyone who could help me out on this again I would greatly appericate.Thank you so much for your time.Brenda
