My uncle,Thomas Ross Jordan, also died on the U.S.S.Monssen(DD436)on Nov.13,1942. I have a sailors cap he gave me the year of his death. The ship complement was 175 officers and men,and 40% survived the sinking. The First Reunion of the survivors was held on Nov.11-13,1992 in San Diego and was attended by my mother and aunt. That group had an Naval Historian compile an illustrated history of the ship with all official reports and records. The letter size report is about 100 pages and contains survivor contacts. Dr.Robert Ballard and National Geographic visited the Monssen in 1993 and produced a video called "The Lost Fleet Of Guadacanal" which shows the ship today and includes an interview with a survivor. Email me if you want a copy of the history or any additinal information . Gerald Ross Adams,Sacramento ,Ca.
