Gd'evening Folks; It has been a sad day for the nation; for the space program and for the families of the seven Astronauts. Not so for the seven Astronauts. They have completed their mission here on earth and have joined a Merciful God in HIs heavenly kingdom. May they rest in peace.
Already the naysayers are condemning the space program - too costly in dollars and lives - according to them.Actually it has been a comparitively safe program. In forty plus years they have lost 17 lives.Three in the Apollo program, seven on Chalenger and 7 today. The Wright Bros. made the first powered flight in 1903; how many lives did aviation claim in the next forty plus years?Let's hope calmer minds prevail and we continue a program that has produced a better understanding of the universe we live in; to say nothing of a spin-off of products so useful in our every day lives.
