456th Engineer Supply Depot, CBI

By Louie FranklinTurner February 02, 2003 at 09:37:26

My late brother-in-law, S/S EVIE DECKER WRIGHT,
of Fort Worth, TX, was Mess Sgt. during this unit's stint in Burma during construction of the Burma Road.

The 456th ESD was activated 20 July 1942 and trained at Camp Barkley, TX, prior to departure for C-B-I, where it was inactivated 30 June 1944, and re-designated as
2757th ESD, 30 June 1944, in Burma.

Our mutual friend , ROBERT JEROME YOUNGER, Harrisburg, PA, joined the 456th per orders on 14 April 1944.

The same orders involved:

CARL P. SCHEMBECK
FRANK E. MALLEY
TOROS N. OMARTAIN
LEO BRHEM

I have a copy of:

A HISTORY OF THE 456TH ENGINERER DEPOT COMPANY

available for name reference, if interested.

I'd like to hear from any of their friends or survivors.

Louie F. Turner.
