My father served in WWII.He was a mechanic and i do have some of his papers. It states he was inGas pool 70th Rd aaf Stn looks like 379. I would like more info on his time overseas. When growing up he often talked about war. At the time i hated it.Now as an adult and his is gone i realize he spent four years overseas during his early years as an adult which really was hard on his life. He is also buried at a va cemetary. It says he particiapatd in Air offensive Europe Normandy, maineland, ardennes Central Europe, and Northern France campaigns. He was given the following medals..... Good Conduct Medal... (looks like) Makeservice medal with 6 bronze service stars , Dist unit Badge, Pre-Pearl Harbor Ribbon. An A. M. Badge.
What is says he did is he was airplane and Eng Mech 747 something about an Eng Sleeve Pat.
Now does anyone know anything about the mechanics who went over seas.He was also enjured during the war and spent time in a hospital in England. He said he didnt get his medals. Not sure or not but wonder if and how to go about getting them now.
Also what do these medals that are listed for? Also the places listed did he actually go there as a mechanic? If there is anything that you would think would be of intrested i would greatly appreciate it thank you Terry
