103rd, 36th
Hi, i am looking for anyone that may have known my grandfather, PFC Fred W. Pallas. He entered the Army in April of 1942. He was trainded at Camp Howze Texas and Camp Claiborne LA. He (from what I understand was a member of the 103rd. until he was wounded in Nov of 1944) He was then sent as a replacement into the 36th, 142nd, CO L. He was killed in action on March 15, 1945. He smoked a pipe, played the mouth organ and the juice harp. he also cut hair to make extra money to send home. He was addressed as Freddie by family and friends. I am trying to make a connection with someone that remembers him for my grandmother, father and uncle, to swap memories.
Thanks, Kristie Pallas
