I have a friend in Montana whose father died during WW2 on September 14 1944. She recently discovered that PFC Haden COMBS, of the same regiment as her father (109th Infantry, 28th Division) died on the same day in the same German town. There is a strong possibility that they died from the same shell. They are both buried in the American Cemetery of Henri-Chapelle, Belgium, near the town where I live.
My friend would like to try to find Haden Combs' family because she thinks they might have some indication that could help her in her "search for her father". The only thing we know is that Haden Combs came from Ohio, that he was a PFC in the 109th infantry, 28th Division, Company E and that he died on September 14, 1944. His serial number is 35269631.
I really don't know if you could help me and my friend out but I am posting messages to all the people who could have some information.
