Randall; On the 50th anniversary of Pearl Harbor A.& E. cable ran a special, which I taped. Watched it again tonite to check the facts.Ens. Joe Langden was assigned to the Arizona, but was on shore at the time of the attack. He watched as a Jap bomber flown by Ens Zengi Abe dropped a bomb on his ship.It penetrated the magazine, exploded and sank his ship within about 9 minutes. In 1991 on the anniversary of Pearl Harbor the two met in Hawaii, went to the Arizona Memorial and put a wreath in front of the wall with the names of those entombed in the ship.
I don't have the details but there have been a few singular instances in the Pacific - Rabaul, New Guinea and possibly Guadalcanal - where a few Vets from both nations have met.I don't know of any mass, organized reunions.Hope this throws a little light on the subject for you. Jack
