anti- aircraft / WW2 /Louisiana Troops
I hope I can find someone to shed some light on my fathers military service. His name was Calvin O. Dale and he was initially in the national guard in Shreveport, La. prior to WW2. I think the Shreveport guard was eventually split up and sent in different directions, but I don't know enough to be sure of that. I do know my father was eventually a 90 milimeter anti-aircraft gun sargent in charge of the men that manned the gun. I know they went ashore at Normandy. I remember him saying he was in France, England and maby Germany. Is there anyone out there that may know something about the 90 mm AA guns in Europe during WW2? ( I also remember him speaking of where they were prior to Europe.. Elisenor, Palacious, and San Diego. They went to Europe on a troop carrier (Liberty ship?), and he returned on the Queen Mary. Thank you to anyone that might know something of some of this, Mike DaleDrmbd10442@aol.com
