My grandfather Technical Sergeant John Chandler served in the S-4 Unit of H&S Company, 207th ECB. For the last three years I have been researching this battalion and started writing a book about the history of the 207th. The 207th belonged to the 1110th Eng. C. Group, VII Corp, First Army. I am looking for veterans from the 207th who would like to contribute their memoirs & pictures to this book.
I am looking for two veterans from the 207th they both were in C-Company, 2nd Lt. Elmo Vaughan & P.F.C. Milford Pointer. They were awarded the Bronze Star for heroic achievement during the Bulge in April:GO #64, HQ First Army, 22 April 1945. Is there a way for me to find out why they were awarded the Bronze Star, is there something that will tell me what happened?
I also need help finding locations from the A/A reports. In the reports it gives grid coordinates. This would be a major help to me, please help! One more thing, what does the letters LWA mean? They are always at the end of the A/A reports. Sincere thanks to anyone who can help!!
