Gosh, this is a tough one.
Which means that he was one of approximately
233,181 dead members who were transported back to the states and interred by their families.
Someone in your family should have knowledge of this final disposition of his remains.
If you can come up with a unit identification
such as "82nd. Airborne Division" for example, I can at least provide a history of his unit.
I have no data base listing any military personnel. Perhaps you can approach the Veterans Administration for a look up on
