My fathers name was Rudolph Donald Brier. He was in the service, was an M.P., was stationed in Germany at one point. My brother has an old photo of a group of soldiers. On the bottom of this photo it says on the left...Camp Kilmer, N.J. and in the middle it says...Overseas shipment group sailing on U.S.A.T. GEN'L Stewart for Germany...then on the right side it says Nov. 26, 194(?).. I am guessing it would be 1947-49, in 1947 he would have been 19 years old. On the back of the photo it says... Duplicate Prints may be obtained from Harry Dutchyshyn Post Photographer Fort Monmouth, N.J., My problem, this is the only info I have, according to NPRC my father doesn't exist because of the fire they had...they lost all the records. I have been told he was married in Germany and because of this marriage he was dishonorably discharged, I have also been told that is bull...I am just trying to find out the truth...I am hoping through this website maybe I will find an old army buddy of his or someone who knew him. He and my mom split up when I was 14 and I never saw him again...he died June 17, 1994. Please if anyone out there can help, I really would appreciate it. I don't even know what rank he was, but in the picture it looks like there is something on his shoulders of his uniform.
