Do you know his full name? Are you sure that it was Vincent? There is no Vincent Milewski included in the WWII Memorial or ABMC databases of KIA. (Some entries have middle initials, and some do not.) However, in addition to the Richard Milewski to whom Mr. Turner alluded (who was killed on the date you gave) there is a Thomas J. Milewski (ASN 13048526), whose home county is Northumberland, Pennsylvania (wherein lies Marion Heights). In addition, said T. J. Milewski was in the paratroopers (502nd PIR), which would jibe with your story about them being shot while hung up in the trees. He was killed, however, on 11 June 1944. Their serial numbers would indicate that the aforementioned Richard M. was drafted, while Thomas M. joined the service. Do you have any further info which might help us solve the riddle?
