Last year a lab tech came to my office and drew blood for my DNA.
Then reps from Army Casualty came to my office and spent about an hour telling me they did not know where the remains recovered in 1951, were. They are missing.
My request was to exhume the grave in JB,, see what if anything is there. If they can show me his remains...I would be there for the exhumation....and use my DNA to prove the identity that would end it.
However I have been told that they could not exhume because the process used on remains during that time period would destroy or mask DNA.
The first recovery was 9 months after the crash. He and the crew were left to lay there on the ground. They did not have a burial until that time and then they could not individually identify them.
I think my letter writing will begin again. I know CILHI, Johnny Webb in particular, was very annoyed with me for being a constant. In fact it was a "don't call us. We will call you" attitude. Meaning if they found the missing remains...if they should suddenly appear, they would notify me. Sure.
