Tom, Bob, Gloria/William: I do hope at least one of you is still checking this WWII Genforum Genealogy forum. My father was with the ASD Navy 3149 toward the end of the war.
His name was F. P. (initials only) "Buster" Thomas. He was older than most (drafted just before he turned 30). He was with a search and salvage crew who picked up cavites (correct for downed planes??).
He took and developed a lot of pitures while there and elsewhere. These are just some of the names he listed with the pictures. Would any of you remember him or any of these people (some are first names, some are nicknames, and some are surnames):
Red, Ski, Schappman, Pete, Bud, Bob, Quier, Shackleford, Svitak, Chief Shepard, Chief Shannon, Shep, Hutch, Joe, Flynn, Hazlebarr, Garr, Spuck, Silver, Robinson, Ramsdon.
Any of these names, including my dad's, sound familiar? If so, please contact me here. I'd like to learn more about the ship(s) my dad was on, his main duties, say "hi" to some of his friends, and what his rank was.
Oh I hope at least one of you knew some of these people and my dad. I have loads of pictures.
Thank you. Sue Ricketson
