It is time to pause and reflect on a very momentous moment inhistory, D-Day, invasion of Europe, 6 June 1944..
For an overview of exactly who was there, please go to:
When we have the last Roll Call, we will hear these answer "Present":
1st Infantry Division
82nd Airborne Division
101st A/B Division,
with each unit's individual componants.
Of course, these are from the American perspective, and involve Omaha Beach and Utah Beach.
We also honor:
British 3rd Division, at Sword Beach
Canadian 3rd Division, at Juno Beach
50th British (Northumbrian ) Division, at Gold Beach,
along with their many related units.
We honor the brave naval units which provided transport and cover for our invaders:
We honor the extradinary air support provided by:
Royal Air Force , Second Tactical Force
RAF, Air Defence of Great Britain
RAF, Airborne and Transport Forces
Allied Expeditionary Air Force:
RAF, Bomber Command
RAF, Coastal Command.
United States Eighth Air Force.
To each individual represented above, we say God Bless you, and God Bless your survivors.
How fortunate we are to have had you on the line for all of us.
