The 6th Armored Infantry was part of the 1st Armored Division.
They participated in the landings at Oran, North Africa and at Anzio on the Italian mainland.
In mid-May44 the unit was tasked as part of operation "Buffalo", which was movement in force in the area of Cisterna in the Albano Hills.
This operation launched on 25MAY44 and hit fierce enemy resistance.Fighting o/a 29MAY44 was on the line Cisterna--Velletri and did not press forward again until 3JUN44.Further progress of this operation opened the door to Rome.
I think you will find reference to 6th Armored movements in texts relating to the 34th Division as I believe they were attached at about this time.
Start small and look at atlases and maps to gain an understanding of the area. This will give you a better understanding of the tactical aspects. I doubt you can google-up Campo Mordio.
Here is a link to a map of the area around Cisterna.
