Re: Deferements - WWII - Please Explain

A deferment was given (excused from draft) for a man having bad health, his age, family circumstances, or having a job in a vital defense industry. My step dad was born without one ear. He enlisted but was given stateside Army jobs. Originally he was defered from the draft.
