You supplied the type info I am seeking on another unit. It is the 520th Ord Bn. Started training 1942 at the Jackson, Miss heavy ordinance facility. Early '43, Ft Hood, Tx. Jul '43 my uncle to Ft Santa Anita for officer school. 29 Mar '44 back at Ft Hood. Departed there as a unit end of Mar-early Apr '44 as next mail has APO 9962 NY address. Unit landed Omaha Beach, then attached to Gen Patton's 3rd Army (about the battle of St Lo) from then on. After end of war, 6 Jul '45, address changed to 314th Ord Bn Hq and Hq Detachment APO 403. I am looking for the unit history from Omaha Beach till the finish. Especially trying to find what major battle they were in about the end of Nov/early Dec when one officer earned the Bronze Star awarded by Patton on 17 Dec. When I tried to search Army sites got a return there was no such unit. But I know better from the scrapbook full of letters home and pictures. Sure would appreciate any help you can give me.
