Hi Louie, Believe me, I never get tired of hearing from nice folks like you.I appreciate all you do, not just for me, but for all those who ask questions on GenForum. I would love to see the picture of Eniwetok Island.Who knows, one of these days I may be lucky enough to even see a picture of an LCM my husband was in.Please do send it !!! Regarding the Seventh Amphibious Force, I'm sure that they were probably both in the Pacific at various islands. The only way I know my husband was there was that he mentioned it in his diary. It is possible that he was not even with his regular unit at the time.I just don't know.I'm going to try to get a history of his unit if that is possible. The biggest battle, by far, was Saipan, according to his diary.I have all his letters, V-mail and all, but of course, anything he wrote about location or engagements was censored out in the letters.
About my maiden MORAN name.I did have relatives in New Orleans, and have had many, many named James.I have not completed my family history research yet, so can't tell you if the Moran's Resturant was my family.Of course you know there are thousands of Morans.Didn't know that until I started my research. My interest in going to New Orleans next year was to hopefully see the new museum.Hope to hear from you soon.Dorothy (Moran) Newmandnewman7@earthlink.net
