With regards to Shirley Isbills posting earlier this year. The USLST's 262 and 266 were part of FORCE B FOLLOW UP for their participation in the Normandy landings...the two craft being amongst some 50 USLST(2)forming the complete group.They loaded up at Falmouth and Plymouth...in some cases departing from same....other craft of the group went from Fowey and Helford River. Both 262 and 266 were units of the 23rd Division.Sister ships of the 23rd being LST 27, 28, 212 and 538.
