Thanks for the Heads Up, Dave ! I still haven't picked up on it yet, must go to my archived maps of the area below Rome. Any other land marks you know of, like, in the direction of...? Of course, Anzio and Naples should be clue enough, but so far, nil. I was in and around Naples many times in the course of the war, and for several months after it ended. I was in Rome area thirty years later, and had my first exposures to Anzio. It was quite tranquil during those visits, but not so in the course of the war. My "treasure" is a rusted German helmet, which was retrieved from a common grave by a friend after the front finally passed, at which time the GI and German casualties were removed for burial in their respective cemeteries.
