I'm looking for any information regarding my grandfather's service in WWII.I know he was in the 172nd QM Co, I believe he was a baker (he was after the war as well), and was the rank of SSGT when he was discharged.
Could someone please help me with the other groups he would have served with?Divisions, armies, etc.?
The little I can remember from him talking about his experiences before his death in 1992 is as follows: - served on Tinian - met the pilot of the Enola Gay before they took off to bomb Japan
My grandfather's name was Ned Russell Pearce. He was born in Zebulon, NC in 1916, and enlisted while living in Westchester County, NY.His enlistment date is 3/18/1941.
I would greatly appreciate any information that anyone might be able to provide as his side of the family is EXTREMELY difficult to trace!Anything about him will help!
