Looking for some history on the 207th Regt & 200th & 400th CA Bn (AA) while trying to unravel my Dad's WWII service.
In January 1941 my father enlisted in the 107th Inf Regt (NY Guard) which was federalized in February and redesignated the 207th CA Regt.
At some point he served in the "Armed Guard" on the USAT John Parker in the Pacific and earned the Asiatic Pacific service ribbon. One of his uniforms had the 45th Div patch (right sleeve).
His enlisted Service was: 28 Jan 41 –4 Nov 42
After OCS he was assigned as follows (per his personnel records): Battery H, 513th Coast Artillery (AA) Regiment Redes: (19 Jan 43): D Battery, 200th CA Battalion (AA) Redes: (18 Mar 43) 400th CA Battalion (AA)
He served with D/400th CA Bn (AA) throughout the war primarily in the Italian Campaign from 19 Mar 43 to 15 Aug 45.
He retired in 1964 and at the time of his retirement he wore a 5th Army patch on the right sleeve.
Confusing , yes but any input will be appreciated.
