Thanks for the useful information.I think that perhaps a mistake was made on my father-in-law's discharge papers, in that it doesn't mention the Combat Infantryman's Badge.Louie suggested that I write to get replacement medals.I did that today.My husband remembers just the colorful ribbons, but no medals attached, so it appears that my father-in-law did not send for the medals upon his return home.
