Sort of Don' military history. Enlisted man in 1930=32 abou 14th regiment part of the time in Panama. Dec 1942. Enlisted in Army requested officer training in TDs ( I'm sort of guessing about some of this.) December 1942.
Sent to Camp Hood when he co,pleted the enlisted men's couse he was acwpted in OCS. Made 2ndLt July 1, 1943

(During this time the 893rd was attached to 6 or 7 differnt IDs Now they are attached to the 78th where they will stay most of the time from now on.)
Jan 1 1945Don is to be Transportation Officer Here things get really murky
Jan 1 45 to Mar 24/45 no dy asgmt
Mar 24 - 45 Don leads a train of trucks across the Rhine to pick up ammunition.
May 1945 Camp 93 near Kassel where thry are guarding minor Nazis while they are being sorted out for disposition.
Aug 11 1945 SO from 78 ID to report to train master in Kassel on the 12th. And then the 19 Reinforcement Depot
Aug 13 1945 Train in wreck near Saarbuchen Train has 4 or more baggage cars full of soldiers belongings including Don's. Don and another Lt are injured both badly. All of their records are lost including their "jackets".
