He was killed on or about 11 August 1945. Whatever remains that were later found were interred in the temporary American cemetery nearest the death locale. In 1947 or '48, his next of kin would have been notified and asked to indicate their wishes regarding the final disosition of his remains. They apparently opted to have his remains returned to the U. S. for burial and, accordingly, the reamins were exhumed and reinterred at Danville Cemetery in 1949.
His Individual Deceased Personnel File (IDPF), also known as his 293 File, consists of the official documents relating to the exhumation, transportation and reinterment of hid remains. You'll find the address at Message #2112. At the main page, enter "2112" in the box in the upper right labeled "Jump to . . . " then click on "Go".
You can disregard most of the instructions. A simple note, something like, "I'd like a copy of the IDPF of 2Lt James Robert Price, Army Air Corps, who was killed on or about 11 August 1945". Keep it simple. The people that handle these files are very adept at what they do. They'll inform you if, for whatever reason, they need additional info (but it's not likely).
