Digger: My father was in the coastal artillery in Panama from November 1942 until June 1944. The following information was taken from morning reports. He was with the 73rd CA until Sep 11, 1943 when all personnel were transferred to the 765th AA Gn Bn, Ft. Amador, CZ.I am providing this information in case there was some mass realignment that may have affected the 767th about this date too. On another morning report it shows a transfer to the 4th CA Ft. Amador, CZ.This was about 2 weeks before he departed Panana.I think the 4th CA was the umbrella outfit you were asking about. I have looked into the CA organization in Panana as well but have no come across anythng definitive.I don't think the CAs were aligned under a division, regiment, battalion stucture as the infanrty; although there were battalions.I am hoping that someone else who reads this can clarify.
If you want to know how I got the morning reports let me know; I realize you may have your own source.
