Barbara, I started a new thread because your inquiry was attached to an old post, and I was afraid my reply might get "lost in the shuffle".
You posted, "Hello there, I am looking for any information about my uncle Everard Percival Harvey. I am told he was part of the 432 squadron, although forgive my ingnorance I don't know much more then that. He died while serving at the age of 19 years old, I believe he was a fighter pilot, but that I am not sure of. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks"
I am just a hobbyist, but I found a couple of things online that might be of interest to you. First, found in a search at the Commonwealth War Graves site ( http://www.cwgc.org/cwgcinternet/search.aspxhttp://www.cwgc.org/cwgcinternet/search.aspx ) is this info:
Name: HARVEY
Initials: E P
Nationality: Canadian
Rank: Pilot Officer (W.Op./Air Gnr.)
Regiment: Royal Canadian Air Force
Unit Text: 432 Sqdn.
Age: 19
Date of Death: 18/12/1944
Service No: J/93739
Additional information: Son of Percy and Winnifred Harvey, of Toronto, Ontario.
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: N. 23.
Cemetery: DIEPPE CANADIAN WAR CEMETERY, HAUTOT-SUR-MER
Also, this site for the 432 Squadron: http://www.angelfire.com/ca/gcarruth/Ops.htmlhttp://www.angelfire.com/ca/gcarruth/Ops.html(You will note that they were a bomber outfit, so it would appear that he was probably not a fighter pilot.)
Last, if you have not already done so, you might try Canadian VA in search of assistance getting further info. Their web address is: http://www.vac-acc.gc.ca/generalhttp://www.vac-acc.gc.ca/general
