384th Ordnance Heavy Maintenance Co.

By Terry Ragsdale August 21, 2006 at 07:43:46

Looking for info:
384th Ordnance Medium Automotive Maintenance (MAM) Co. was activated at Camp Joseph T. Robinson, Arkansas, April 1944. At this time it was attached to the 4th Army, a separate company. After BT the unit was transferred late summer/early fall to Camp Bowie, Brownwood Texas then to Ft. Ord, Calif. early 1945. Redesignated 384th Ordnance Heavy Maintenance Co.(Tank) and attached to 3rd Corp and 6th Army. While at Ft. Ord the unit was involved in amphibious training, using Landing Vehicles Track(LVT), with emphasis on service and maintenance. Early summer 1946 the company was moved from Ft. Ord to Ft. Sill, Ok.
From there ?
1. Is the company still in existence?
2. If not, where and when was it dissolved?
3. Would like history from 1946 to now or when it was dissolved.
Thanks in Advance,
Terry
