Maurice I, would like to have contact with this veteran, too please. He would have knownmy dad, Sgt Francis Jerrett, and/or his brother Lt/Capt David Jerrett, of Dilley,OR.My dad started with I Co, 186th, in 1934, but in the war, he was with the (162nd or 163rd.) Inlate 1943, he was sent to OCS in OZ, then on to the 1st Cav Div. His older brother was with the 41stto the end.
Dad was at the same battle where his best friend, Lt Harold Fisk, was killed. A fewyears back someone asked a group of veterans about Fisk's death and his body for me. I was told they were hesitant but they did give the details and at last I have put to restmy grief for my father, and "the dream" that was his PTSD.
There was another benefit to me from that answer.I know why Dad told his war stories whenever I asked. The names of the men he served were remembered. Today, they are still remembered and they will not become Unknown Soldiers.
