Is there someone out there who served with my Uncle Boody that can tell me about him. He never married, so he has no children and all of his family members are dead. Bood was a twin to my dad, Moody.
Boody Caton PFC died 6/13/1945 from gun-shot wounds caused by the accidental discharge of his weapon. He had just finished cleaning his Thompson sub-machine gun and was oiling it when it was accidentally discharged. His funeral service was conducted by Chaplain, Nathaniel H. Davis on June 13, 1945 in Frontenhausen, Germany. Uncle Boody was buried in St. Avold, France. In Jan/Feb 1949 Boody's body was returned to his family and buried in Lincoln, Arkansas.
Enlistment information:Released from active duty on September 8, 1942 andtransferred to the Enlisted Reserve Corps.Called to active duty from Stilwell, OK to Ft. Sill, OK (Adair Co.) on 9/22/1942.
